CAMPING IN THE OCALA NATIONAL FOREST
Smack dab in the middle of the Ocala National Forest there is a campground. Salt Springs Resort is located on the shore of Little Lake Kerr. Formerly Elite Resorts, Salt Springs Resort is a family campground where pets are welcome too.
YOU'RE ENTERING THE FUN ZONE
All campsite renters pull to the right. The friendly staff will check you in and lead you to your campsite if you choose. You'll receive a packet of useful information when you check in.
Our Gate Greeters patrol the grounds 24/7 for your peace of mind.
All the sites have water, sewer and 50 AMP electric hookups plus cable TV.
What would camping be without a campfire after a day of activity? Just be sure to take note of the Fire Risk sign on the right as you enter. Take the proper steps to ensure that your campfire is in an above ground container and fully extinguished when you're not there to watch it.
CAMPSITES FOR RENT
It's important to know that each campsite is individually owned by a member of Salt Springs Resort Association. Some of those owners have chosen to rent their sites to visitors when they aren't present.
Many of the campsites have been upgraded to include a patio or deck, a fire pit, a picnic table, landscaping or other amenities to make your stay more enjoyable.
There are pull throughs available but most are back-in sites. Almost all the sites can accommodate an RV with slides.
Salt Springs is a large resort with 475 sites. The size of the resort allows you to be "off the beaten track" or "in the midst of the action". It's your choice but you must make your preferences known when calling for a reservation. The staff will do their best to assign a lot that meets your needs.
As you walk or ride around the resort you'll see an assortment of living accommodations. There are trailers, fifth-wheels, motor homes and park models. A park model is a small manufactured house that has less than 500 square feet of living space.
All RV's must be self-contained and have water and sewer hookups. Sorry, no tents are allowed.

I also live here full time, I wouldn't leave for anything.I have made some wonderful friends here that I hope to enjoy lots of good times with.It is so scenic and peaceful here amongst the forest. A great place to be.
The park is beautiful. We own a lot and stay about six months out of the year like you Vicki. Do you have any more rental info. such as rates? Would love to rent several sites for my family to visit.
We came here four years ago as weekend warriors and each trip home, we were wishing for a few more days in the forest. We now live here full time with great neighbors and friends. Our visiting friends tell us that they did not know a place like this existed. The resort pictures are great.

I have to say we have been coming here for about 8 yrs as weekend warriors and then about 3 years ago found a site and rented it from the owner to leave our rv there and just came out on weekends. We have recently purchased a lot last month and have to say we have met so many great ppl. This would include owners as well as renters and you couldn't get me to go anywhere else. We love this place and will be making it our home full time next summer.

We stumbled on the Salt Springs resort 4 winters ago in an attempt to find some "linedancing" and some "fishing". Ever since we leave Nova Scotia in early January and make our way back to the park as renters for the winter. Love the place. Have made lots of new friends and the area has just the right amount of activity to satisfy our wants. The resort has become our "other life" for the winter months and we hope to continue to do this for years to come.

We started coming to this resort in 93.Has always been our favorite spot.Have made many friends here and finally bought a lot 2yrs ago.Hope to winter here for many more yrs.

We love the park & the forests with its lakes rivers & springs. Being Cdn. we say "the winters at Salt Springs are better then our summers." One important thing missing from this site is photos of the beautiful sunsets over Lake Kerr.

Eleanore and Dave, You're absolutely right. The sunsets are amazing. I'll take pictures of that this fall when I arrive and also all the people on their golf carts who gather at the lake each evening to watch the sun go down. Thanks for reminding me.

We'd like to do some improvements on our lot and thought we had someone lined up, but things just haven't panned out... Can anyone refer me to a reliable landscaper in the area?

I have been coming to this Resort since I was a child with my grandparents and family. Now 20 years later as a mother of two young childern, I would have to say this is still one of my favorite RV resorts to bring the family! We always have a great time.

I'm sorry it has taken me so long to respond. We've been selling our house in PA and buying and moving to SC so I haven't checked my hubs.
If you're still interested in locating Salt Springs Resort, try putting in the address: 25250 East Hwy. 316, Salt Springs, FL 32134. This address will take you to the entrance of the resort.
As an additional note: Using just the zip code, it comes up Fort McCoy, FL and that town is 15 miles from Salt Springs. I know it's confusing and that's probably due to the remote location and being in the Ocala National Forest.

I fell in love with the people and the park so much I purchased a lot. Lots of fun things to do, the park is clean and the people are friendly.
